Our visit to Fire Station 1

Ever since Tyler was in kindergarten, he has told me he either wanted to be a firefighter or a police officer. Now that he is getting older, I thought it would be a good idea to help him explore those professions to start setting some goals for his future.

This is Tyler with our family friend, Mark. Mark is a firefighter at Station 1 here in Greensboro. He offered to give Tyler
a tour of the station and show him how they do it.

Tyler opening the hydrant to use the giant hose on the truck...

Jayden and Mama in the fire truck...the headsets were so cool. Even with the siren on, we could all talk to each other. It was awesome!

Jayden had a great time! Behind Jayden, is my good friend, Kimberly (Mark's wife).

Here is Tyler getting ready to use the big water gun on top of the truck!

In training, the firefighters have to run up 4 stories carrying a 50 lb hose! That is Tyler at the very top.

Mark talked to Tyler about how they take great pride in the station and keep it nice and clean. Since it was a rainy day, the floor got wet when they the fire truck back inside. Tyler was quick to help Mark get it up! Atta boy Ty!

This is Ty holding the big hose in the training building. It weighs 50 lbs! (What a good boy, what a smart boy, what a strong boy...-BNL)

Here is Tyler's face after he got out of the fire truck...
We had a super great time and I think Tyler really has an idea of what it takes to move forward with his goals. Thanks Mark!
